This has definitely been a time of seeking for our family. We desperately want to make the right decisions in regards to this adoption. As I stated in my last post we had talked to our agency about switching to Ethiopia. Claire, our representative, got back with us last week and our change has been approved! Thank you Jesus! They are in the process of reworking our contract because some fees have changed, but I know God will provide exactly what we need. He has so far so why would he stop now?
Other exciting news is we got our passports in the mail a couple of days ago. We look like the saddest people on the planet in our pictures. When we went to get the pictures made for the passports I even made the little girl at Walgreen's redo mine and that did not even help LOL! We look more like we are getting mugshots done instead of getting ready to leave the country to adopt a beautiful child from Africa. I am not really sure why they do not want you to show teeth or smile in these pictures. At least they are done and that means we are one step closer to getting our little one!

A Piece of the Puzzle

Hello all! Just wanted to let you know what we are doing right now. This is not only a fundraiser but will also be a cherished reminder of all those that help to bring our child home. I chose this puzzle because we are ALL precious in His sight!
Okay here is how it works... We are selling each piece of the puzzle for $5.00 each. On the back of the piece of puzzle you purchase will be your name and you can even put the state you are from. When we sell all the pieces of the puzzle, we will glue it together and put it in a shadow box, so the names will be visible of all who have contributed in bringing our child home. If you want to be a piece of the puzzle please leave me an email address in the comment section and I will respond as to where to send the money.
The puzzle pieces on the table are ones that have been purchased and the pieces in the bag are what is left. If you look real close at the puzzle piece on the right, you can see my youngest daughter's name. She had money she had earned from chores and wanted to buy her own pieces to the puzzle. She is too sweet!
When all the pieces are bought I will put a picture of this masterpiece on for all to see! Thanks for your support and prayers!

A Long Time Coming!
Since my husband and I announced our plans to adopt, I have been asked several times if we had a blog and of course we did not, mainly because it seemed overwhelming to me. I have never considered myself to be a great writer but we do have a story that needs to be told. So here it goes....
My husband, Dwane, has said for as long as I can remember that he would like to adopt someday but I myself had not given it much thought until the past year. God started stirring our family's hearts for adoption and I was really scared at first and even tried to back out. It is amazing how God works. After I had told Dwane that I was not sure this is what God wanted for us (which was actually my fear), he said okay and we continued to pray about the situation. After that time during my daily devotions, a book I was reading and a Bible study I was involved in kept bringing up adoption. So I knew then what God's answer was for our family, but I continued to pray and had not said anything to anyone about it yet because my whole family was on board and they were waiting on me. God was still working on me (I am a worrier by nature and sometimes it just takes hold of me).
Dwane and I got confirmation from God through the youth pastor at our church what was in store for us. It was truly a God moment when we both knew in our hearts that this was what we were supposed to do.
We started the process back in November to get the ball rolling. It is amazing how God has used our friends and people we do not even know to support us during this process. As most people know adoption is very expensive but I have learned that if God tells you to do something he will provide the means for you to do it. Look out family and friends we will be doing some hard-core fundraising to bring this baby home!
We initially started the process of adopting through Rwanda. However with them having issues with getting Hague implemented in their country, we have been given the opportunity to change locations. We have prayed about this and it is looking like Ethiopia is where we will be going (after approval from our agency). We cannot wait to bring this little one into our family!
I know this is a long post but I feel like I have left so much out! I am going to try to get a timeline up so you can see just where we are in this journey. Please pray for us that we do what God wants us to every step of the way not what we want!
